This exceptional coffee comes from the ALKO women's cooperative that has flourished in the breathtaking Kayu Aro highlands of the Kerinci regency, where the towering presence of Mount Kerinci—Indonesia's highest volcano—creates the dramatic backdrop for their sustainable farming practices. For over a decade, this dedicated group of women producers has cultivated coffee on small family parcels along the Kerinci valley's edge, establishing themselves as guardians of both exceptional coffee quality and environmental stewardship.

Operating within the shadow of the Kerinci Seblat National Park—Sumatra's largest protected area and a UNESCO World Heritage site—the ALKO cooperative has consistently demonstrated their mastery of traditional wet hulling methods while pioneering sustainable practices that protect the habitat of endangered Sumatran tigers. Their commitment extends beyond coffee production to include comprehensive nursery programs and meticulous hand-sorting operations, all managed by women who have transformed their cooperative into a model of consistency and excellence.
